Training

Ingrid offers consulting and training in comawork and palliative care to a range of patients in post-traumatic states and near death experiences. She has consulted with many patients and their families in hospitals, residential care facilities as well as in the home environment. She is also available for training of students who are interested in working in the fields of palliative care and thanatology.

Ingrid has also offered her exploration of far-out states of consciousness to those working with patients in coma, with dementia, or engaged in near-death situations. She has trained professionals working in these fields in a number of certificate programs based in New Zealand. She has also provided training to doctors, nurses and volunteers working in hospice in the United States. Training and certificate programs include the following areas of study and application:

  • Process-oriented bodywork
  • Inner Work
  • States of consciousness that are altered, or out-of-ordinary states, such as delirium, hallucinations, forgetfulness, confusion, comatose and vegetative states, near death experiences
  • Death and dying, and issues relating to loss, grief and bereavement
  • Symbolic thinking and the use of metaphor
  • Coma communication
  • Family systems, cultural perspectives and the clinical setting
  • Case Studies

Based on these trainings as well as the application of tools, techniques and methods with patients and their families over the years, Ingrid and Kay's new book Doorways into Dying: Innovative Teachings for End of Life" is now available through Amazon or  Austin Macauley, U.K.
